Privacy Policy
Effective November 4, 2026. MyEngo is in early beta.
MyEngo is an app that helps adults learn English from their own daily life. This policy explains what personal information the app handles, why, who receives it and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
MyEngo is run by Georgy Azgarov, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is accountable for this policy. Write to info@myengo.ca with any question, request or complaint.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and password. The password is stored only in hashed form.
- Settings: the language you choose and your answer about AI help.
- Your learning content: the words, phrases and sentences you save, your cards, your review history, and the texts you write together with their AI reviews.
- Usage records: when the app is opened, its version, build and platform, and for each AI request the model, the size of the request, its cost and its duration.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, and feedback, screenshots and crash reports you send through TestFlight.
Be careful with what you save. If you paste a message or a sentence that names other people or holds private details, it becomes part of your content and, with AI help on, is sent to Anthropic.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep your learning content and schedule.
- To give you translations, study material and writing reviews through AI, if you allow it.
- To limit AI use, understand how the app is used, fix problems and improve MyEngo.
- To answer you.
We do not sell your personal information. The app has no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
AI help and Anthropic
AI help is optional and the app asks for your permission first. With AI help on, our server sends the following to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude AI: the text you save or write, your chosen language, the writing task, and notes from your earlier writing reviews. Your email address and password are not sent.
Anthropic states that by default it does not use data from its commercial API to train its models and that it deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days. It may keep data longer where the law requires it or to enforce its usage policy, and content flagged as a violation may be kept for up to 2 years. See the Anthropic Privacy Center.
You can turn AI help off at any time in Settings. You can still make cards by hand. Text already sent stays subject to the periods above.
Who else handles your information
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in and server functions. The database is in Canada (Central).
- Anthropic (United States): AI processing, as described above.
- Apple: app distribution through TestFlight and the App Store, and feedback and crash reports you send.
- Cloudflare and Google: our domain and website, and delivery of email sent to our address, which is forwarded to Gmail.
These providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be lawfully accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of that country. We may also disclose information when Canadian law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning content until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account in the app removes your account, content and usage records from our database right away. Providers may hold copies for a limited time as described above and in their own policies. Email stays in our mailbox for as long as we need it to deal with your message.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: Settings, Delete account.
- Withdraw permission for AI: Settings, AI help.
- Access or correct your information: write to info@myengo.ca.
- Complain: write to us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections, and each account can reach only its own data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner.
Age
MyEngo is meant for people 18 and older. It is not directed to children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and will change the date at the top. For important changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
